Announcing Topfer PipeCAD

I’m proud to announce the Beta release of the Topfer PipeCAD organ pipe design program. This new product of Universal Mirth & Magic was created to help pipe organ designers with the sometimes repetitive task of capturing design data for the fabrication of organ pipes.

A note to the user: This is a BETA version, which means that you should expect to stumble across a few bugs. Generally speaking, though, I have worked to removed the most aggravating bugs, so that PipeCAD could be released into the wild.

The PipeCAD 0.8 beta version supports the creation of a number of ranks of pipes, with data entered either via the mouse (using the on-screen graph) or with the keyboard (by typing values directly into a table). Only the dimension parameters are currently handled by the program, but support for mouth widths, cutups, etc., is fast on the way.

Printing support is currently limited to printing out the graph. Work is proceeding rapidly to enable full report generation and printing. Documentatio, such as the User Guide and examples of PipeCAD projects, are still being drafted. You will, however, find a single example file located in the Topfer PipeCAD folder in your Program Files folder (typically C:\Program Files\Topfer PipeCAD).

Please feel free to download PipeCAD and try it for yourself. And please help me and the PipeCAD community by sending your comments along, so that I can make PipeCAD the best possible product.

    Hi pushap!

Thanks for your interest in PipeCAD. Sorry that I’ve taken so long to get a more finished version up on the web for you, but I’ve been consumed with moving and travel. Additionally, I’ve wanted to take time to produce nice reports as output. Now that I’ve gotten a few other tasks behind me, I’ll be turning my attention back to PipeCAD, so please keep watching for an update to the program soon!

    Cheers,

    Mirth Maker
